Impulse Buys part 2

Continuing the theme of things I've bought in the past that I either A) realized I should have never bought them in the first place and in turn sold them off or B) still have and have no room for them in my main collection that they got sent to the basement bin abyss.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Movie and comic sets-3 3/4")

I tend to get caught up in the hype of movies...a lot! Most comic book films that have an associated toy line will get my attention and 9 times out of 10 I'm buying some action figure or toy associated with it.

When Wolverine came out in theaters they produced figures not in the normal 6" scale that I collect but in the 3 3/4" size. Ugh...I've never been a fan of that scale but I always find myself buying and then reselling/giving them away after slapping myself and saying 'hey, stupid idiot! Stop buying figures in a scale you detest!'

Four Horsemen's 7th Kingdom

Ok, don't get me wrong. These figures are great. No doubts about that. For me, however, it wasn't about collecting the line or getting the others in the line. It was more of having a 'Bebop' and 'Rocksteady' to go with a TMNT photo story I was putting together for the NECA comic book TMNT figures. Once I was done, the figures didn't appeal to me. They didn't fit with anything else I had and I wanted to make room for things I do collect. $80 just to take a few dozen pictures. Stupid Idiot.

Marvel Comics MunnyWorld customize Iron Man

This was one of those 'oh I can be creative and display this at my desk and look hip' moments that sometime traverse my mind hole. It wasn't a big expense as it was on clearance at a local Barnes & Noble store but it serves no purpose among my other things. I have a lot of Iron Man action figures but I'm not an Iron Man collector like I am Superman and Ninja Turtles. This one stands out in the collection of stuff I own for the wrong reasons and as you can guess I never turned around and said 'oh snap, this is cool. I want more'.

Magic The Gathering

I wasn't one of those kids that got caught up in the card player frenzy that some of my friends growing up did. I never got into Magic the Gathering and even when action figures were produced a few years ago, I still didn't think anything of it. It was only when Target put the $20 figures on clearance for $7 that I jumped on buying the whole set (that 'whole collection for cheap in one shot' thing I mentioned in part 1). I even traveled from Target to Target stores to get the whole set. Characters I didn't even know and still don't. Cool figures, but it didn't interest me. I got caught up in the hunt. After the frenzy ended, I stopped caring and said 'enjoy your trip to that basement bin'.

Random Lego Sets

I love LEGO. I even have a blog entry lined up about how amazing the Lord of the Rings Lego line was/ is. When it came to LEGO it was only LOTR and Superheroes (DC/Marvel) but that dang great LEGO movie added to my LEGO fever and I had to have anything and everything LEGO. So I bought a bunch of LEGO movie sets (that's fine. I still love those) but then it was LEGO Dimensions (I don't even own the game) and any holiday exclusive, store exclusive, polybag set, and minifigures. My LEGO fever died down, thankfully, and I've limited my purchases greatly. Pray for me that the LEGO Batman movie doesn't drive me into another LEGO frenzy!

I think I have enough stuff to display for round 3, so I'll show some more regrets soon.
