Bandai Sprukits: Batman (Arkham City version)

Snap on model kits aren't a new thing in the collector community, but a lot of them you would have to either paint them, glue them, and in the end most were just glorified statues. Not the case with these Sprukits from Bandai.

What Bandai has done was design snap on kits that after put together create fully articulated figures with accessories! There are 3 different level versions, level 1 being easy, 2 medium, and 3 difficult.

Also I've noticed that the higher the difficulty level, the bigger the figure as well (probably to accommodate all of the pieces). The big sets (like this one) has a retail of $60 but with a reduced price of $20 I finally took the dive to see if these Sprukits are cool or not.

The firs thing I noticed was the instructions and how it made it seem like I was in for an intimidating experience. It was complicated once you got things going but it wasn't the quick build I expected like say putting together a Lego set.

Each piece is numbered and alphabetized and you have to match things up based on the grid on the instructions. The pieces are sturdy and secure really well. You have to be careful though as I accidentally snapped pieces together incorrectly and I had to use a knife to pull them apart. They are that secure.

There is only one sticker sheet (thank goodness) and its for Batman's eyes. The smaller Sprukits don't have eyes for some reason. This one does and the sticker sheet is eyes are very small. I had to be very steady with my hands to make sure his eyes went on right. Be very careful with that.

After it's all said and done, you end up having a pretty great action figure. Yes, he's on the lighter side and he's not as detailed actual action figures. But the design is cool, the colors are great, he's very durable, and he's super articulated!

Not many figures can do that crouching move, but this Batman does. I love the amount of poses I can put this figure in. We also have to talk about the accessories!

He comes with not only extra hands but also some bat-goodies for his hands to grip and hold. Each accessory is accurate to the video game the figure is based on. You can even use those weapons for maybe the other Batman figures in your collection

If I were to have one complaint it would be the flatness of the cape. The material used is understandable as to not make the figure to heavy so it can stand, but maybe a thicker material with some folds would have given it a bit of realism.

Overall I really like the thing. The articulation is great, the look is good, the accessories are perfect. I had hopes that a Superman would be in the same scale but that was never made and the intermediate version isn't as nice as this one. I'm a little concerned that the line might not have 'taken off' due to the price drop but I hope they find a way to continue and make it a bit more affordable than the normal retail.
