If you're not familiar with Funko Pop! Vinyls or even seen them, then your finger is so far from the pulse of life that I can't help you. Well maybe I can help
Check them out here and do some homework:
https://funko.com/
Funko has made Pop! collectibles for so many properties anywhere from movies, television, comics, music, anime and more. The shear volume of already produced Pop! figures is astronomical.
If there's something that you're really into or a big fan of, I would bet that there's a 95% chance that there are Pop! Vinyl figures for people or characters of that fandom either already made or on the docket for being made. But...
...there are a few properties that have not been made yet. Some of that has to do with licensing issues, or likeness rights, or even creative strongholds that makes it impossible for Funko to make figures.
So for reasons I don't know, there are 3 properties that A) probably won't see Pop! vinyls and B) may see them but the future looks bleak C) I NEED in Pop! figure form
#1. Bram Stoker's Dracula
I'm a HUGE vampire film fan and Bram Stoker's Dracula is my favorite of all! There has been various merchandise based on this film (Toys, statues, etc) but no POP! figures. They have released 'Dracula' but that is the Bella Lugosi 'Universal Monsters' version.
I need me Pops from this film! Let's go down the list of what my dream 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' line-up would look like:
Dracula:
Gary Oldman's version of the titular character had several metamorphoses throughout the film. Pictured above might be considered the basic look as he probably had more screen time in that disguise.
Old Count Dracula was probably the most iconic and scarier looks of the character, albeit even maybe considered the most iconic look of the film. This look is a must-have!
rounding out the Dracula variants would be his other transformations and his 'Origins' armored look. I would even loved to see flocking used to simulate the fur on both the 'wolf' and 'bat' versions of the character.
What would Dracula be without his nemesis? Dr. Van Helsing (played brilliantly by Sir Anthony Hopkins) is a MUST for the line-up and I would chose the look of the POP! to resemble the picture above! The image is just fantastic!
Lastly, the other players. Mina, Dracula's ultimate love; Lucy, Mina's friend and Dracula's victim; and lastly Jonathan Harker and possibly the 3 brides of Dracula (a 3 pack would be sweet!)
2) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Fans of both the show and Pop! figures have been BEGGING for Funko to produce Pop! figures of 'the gang'. The show has a huge following for being daring, pull-no punches hilarious, with no line to big to cross. Of course I'd love to see figures of each character and since Funko loves to do variants, here are a few I'd love to see (I'll go with 3 per character):
Dennis-
Dennis is the scheming, sociopath of the group and he, for the most part, has always dressed casual. Funko Pops! have been able to capture character looks in casual ways before (look at the 'Friends' Pop! figure line and how they were able to make simple casual looking figures look like the actual actors) so this wouldn't be a hard figure to create.
The 'Dayman' outfit that Dennis wears in both episodes associated with the 'Dayman vs Nightman' concept is a classic one. Codpiece, open chest, and fringe sleeves would make this Pop! a hilarious addition and perfect variant.
picking a third for Dennis was a bit difficult as I could have went with the 'Birds of War' look.
Mac:
Someone needs to have the Paddy's pub logo and no one would be better to do so than Mac. Throughout the series, Mac has some pretty cool and funny T-shirts. It would be even better to make it sleeveless as to reflect the character's ideology that wearing sleeveless shirts shows off what he calls 'his guns'.
of course if we have the 'Dayman', we are definitely going to need the 'Nightman'. Complete with character outfit and 'cat eyes', this variant is a no-brainer from quite possibly the best episode of the series.
Lastly, one of the running gags for a season was the fact that Mac got fat in what he calls 'gaining mass' to become a strongman. This Pop! would have a different build and a fuller beard to complete the look.
Dee:
Dee is the butt of the gang's jokes on a constant basis but she's also an important member of the gang. She's also a really funny character. 'Regular' Dee, like the Dennis POP! would still be recognizable due to Funko's top notch sculpting.
The princess outfit from 'The Nightman Cometh' is a must-have since each character had a distinctive look for the musical they performed. We're going to need each of them in their get-ups.
The 'Aluminum Monster' is a running joke about how messed up Dee's body was growing up. The look appeared during their high school reunion and made a lasting impression in the fan's memory.
Charlie:
I had the hardest time selecting the ones for Charlie. Not due to a lack of different looks but due to an abundance of classic outfits and disguises. For normal Charlie, I'm going with the green jacket that has shown up in a lot of episodes and it's easy to pick out.
Continuing the 'Nightman Cometh' variants, I would definitely need the 'true Dayman' with Charlie in his outfit from the end of the musical.
Last two are a tie for me (no pun intended...maybe). 'Bird Law' Charlie and 'At home' Charlie are both hilarious and both looks have shown up in a great amount of episodes. I could have either or both. Can't have enough Charlie.
Frank:
Frank is an awesome character. Danny DeVito is in his glory in the role. 'Regular' Frank could come holding a variety of accessories, anything from his trusty side-arm or the classic 'Rum Ham'
Finishing the cast of 'The Nightman Cometh' would be Frank's 'Troll' character. A perfect variant for the line and you wouldn't have to pay the troll's toll to get...um...never mind.
Lastly, I went with Frank's wrestling moniker 'The Trash Man'. The whole episode from which this came from was gut-busting and the fact that he's the victor in the end just makes this the perfect addition.
1) Terminator and Terminator 2
Terminator 2 is my favorite movie ever! Hands down! No questions asked! It's mind boggling that we have not seen anything related to this franchise in terms of Pop! figures. I heard it was due to the expense of the actor's license (Arnold) and that may be true. However, we've gotten a Conan the Barbarian just recently so maybe there's hope for the future. Remember, there is no fate but what we make ourselves (Boom! Terminator!)
The T-800! Arnold's most famous role and one of the best characters ever created had several looks spanning the entire franchise. I'm going with the two looks from the first film (Tech Noir outfit & the police department assault) and two looks from the second (all black leather and cyber arm reveal). Throw in the Endoskeleton and a battle damaged look and that covers all of my T-800 Pop! needs!
'The Family': Of course we're going to need the protagonists from both films. Sarah Connor was in both films and even though her 80's look and do would make for a fun Pop! figure, here military look from the second film is just iconic! Throw in Kyle Reese, the soldier sent from the future to save Sarah and become an unborn John Connors father, and John Connor himself from the past but in part 2 he's in the future from part 1...I just confused myself. Trust me the first two movies are awesome and won't be as confusing as me trying to explain it.
The T-100. The ultimate adversary to Arnold's T-800. One of the coolest, scariest, technologically advanced villains ever put on screen. He, like Arnie, had a few looks too. Of course his normal cop outfit (maybe with some liquid metal bullet holes) should be the standard look. Add in the motorcycle cop look and the all liquid metal look and then you have yourself some cool variants AND the completion of a great Terminator Pop! line up.
And there you have it. My top 3 dream lines that I wish Funko could and should make. Maybe the stars will align one day and maybe my dreams will come true.
